Part V Conclusion
I believe that stem cells should be researched and put into use as soon as possible. I believe this because so many people have incurable diseases or are paralyzed, and they could be cured. I want to live in a world where your family and friends don’t have to be scared if you have cancer, because cancer is truly a scary disease and can affect you forever if you get it. I also believe that the thought of using an aborted fetus is not allowing that being to live and grow is ridiculous, it’s already dead, I’m sorry but that’s the truth, and it cannot grow or become a part of society. We are essentially just throwing them away and putting important technology to waste.
I understand that some people just cannot get over the fact that the cells of an aborted fetus are going to be placed in them, that thought disgusts some people, but the amount of people we could save by using embryonic stem cells from aborted fetuses is in the tens to hundreds of millions of people, and it’s not like you are going to be forced to use them it could be something of choice to use this kind of treatment or not. Another thought people have about stem cells is, if we use them, then we are playing essentially God. But we’re not, we are saving people, an act of god is defined as An event that directly and exclusively results from the occurrence of natural causes that could not have been prevented by the exercise of foresight or caution; an inevitable accident. This is why I believe that we should put embryonic stem cells into use as a medical treatment.
Ultimately, I believe that everyone can have their own opinion on a subject, it won’t make you a bad person in you don’t believe in the same things that I do and I won’t hate you if you tell me I’m wrong. I just think that we should use the new technology we have to help benefit the world as a whole instead of wasting time and people’s lives in waiting for a cure that will not come unless we take these stem cells and put them to use.
